Welcome to our latest blog post, where we dive into the heart of treasure hunting – the equipment that makes it all possible. Today, we're focusing on
But don't just take our word for it. We've reached out to our community of avid treasure hunters to bring you first-hand feedback on how these coils have transformed their searching experiences. Here's what they had to say:
Q: Please provide some feedback about any of the CoilTek items you have used.
Darren – Regarding CoilTek 10x5 Coil
Great product, brilliant build quality and fantastic performance
Anonymous – Regarding CoilTek 10x5 Coil
Currently using this coil on a permission with very clumpy grass and overgrown patches. This coil has been fantastic at working around these clumps covering as much ground as possible. I'm lucky enough to be able to turn the sensitivity to 28 on this land with my nox 900 and it is picking up a lot of objects, coins, horse brass etc. very good coil to use in this situation.
Anonymous – Regarding CoilTek 15” for Equinox
It was very balance on the equinox 800 and it rang signals well and felt very deep

The
Anonymous – Regarding CoilTek 15” for Equinox
Brilliant discrimination over the standard Minelab coil. Especially in slightly trashy ground.
Ben – Regarding CoilTek 15” for Equinox
Very easy to control especially in stubble. Gave great depth & sensitivity. Found part of Roman brooch (fibula) on first use!
Dave – Regarding CoilTek 15” for Equinox
A little heavy to start with but soon got used to it super over pasture covers ground a lot quicker.
Rob – Regarding the CoilTek 10x5 Coil
Great on Roman sites and in iron infested fields
Mike – Regarding the 15" round DD (Equinox 800), 18" Elite Mono (GPX5000) and 14" Anti interference coil (GPX5000)
I love this coil as it gives you more ground coverage that the equinox 15x12 and is a lot less prone to EMI compared to the 15" round from
The Elite mono is a deep-punching coil Ideal for old pasture
I use the 14" when there are power lines near or built-up areas cuts down the EMI quite a lot compared to the 15x12 Minelab Commando coil
Craig – Regarding the CoilTek 15” Coil
It is a beast. The depth is amazing and it's allowed me to find the smallest of silver coins at depth.
Chris – Regarding the CoilTek 10x5 Coil
Borrowed one for an afternoon and found it useful for cluttered spaces although the target separation wasn't what I'd hoped. I'd like to try it again for longer and also some of the other models.
Malkie – Regarding the Equinox 15”, Equinox 14x9 and Equinox 10x5
Excellent coils especially the 10x5 for iron infested ground. The 15” on pasture is amazing by pulling out finds where others said the field was done.
John – Regarding the 10x5 Nox and 15" Nox Coil
I like both coils. The 10x5 was great for hunting in and around beaches and rock pools etc in Brittany, France.
The 15" gives greater swing coverage in open fields, which means I can cover more area in a session.
John – Regarding the 15" Nox Coil
Great coil, in my opinion if given a chance will increase your finds rate and give better depth. You have to learn how to pinpoint with it, which is the same for all large coils.
Wendy – Regarding the 10" and 14"
Anonymous – Regarding the 10x5” and 14x9” Coils
10X5 is unbeatable on rough and stubble and 14x9 is superb elsewhere.
Mark – Regarding the 15” and 14x9” Coils
I’ve always found
Anonymous – Regarding the 15” coil
Great coil, I was finding the standard Minelab 11" coil could be quite noisy, but this was much nicer to use on the type of ground I am usually on.
Karl – Regarding the 10x5” and 14x9” Coils
The 10 x 5 is a great little coil, ideal for high trash iron infested areas or for use between rocks on the beach. The 14 x 9 coil is ideal for beach work where I have used it in the shallow surf area, only down side is the weight of it but I suppose this makes it stable in the surf area of the beach.
Cheech – Regarding the 10x5” Coil
This is my go to coil as I am short and struggle with the weight of other coils! I am also, so happy with the superlative way that this coil isolates the tiniest signals! It makes the tiny signals easy to hear and to pinpoint reducing the size of the holes that I dig! All in all a most excellent product!
Q. What’s your favourite Coiltek Coil?
Jason
The 10x5 for its capability of separating those good targets from bad ones in iffy ground

18 inch

I've only used the 10 x 5 but find it fantastic for compact areas and more defined object location.
Grant
The 15 inch equinox coil is by far the best coil on the market due to its detecting depth, accuracy and light weight construction

The old one I had for my old Xterra 70 that thing ripped coins out of the ground. I’d love a new one for my new Xterra pro think that would turn her into a treasure hunting monster lol
JP
I love my 10x5 , its my go-to coil. The size is perfect, with a 10" coverage while swinging but the ability to hone in between iron signals to locate otherwise missed targets is perfect. I've had some of my best finds with this coil over the last 6 months or so of owning it. Also the reduced weight over larger coils means you can carry on without arm/shoulder fatigue. All in all, a brilliant coil, well done
Craig
Definitely the Nox 15. I've just upgraded to a Manticore so I'm hoping they manufacture a coil for that soon.
Andrew
i just love the 10x5 inc coil, i use it on my junky site`s i have and in the woods. it`s light and fast and for a small coil it`s got great depth. i use this coil most of the time even on stubble fields, for me it`s an all rounder coil.
John
15" for the Nox. I feel it increases your chances of getting more finds. Have been at rallies on really well searched areas and picked up items other detectorists have missed including hammered coins. I prefer it over the smaller stock coil.

14X9 is one of the best all-round coils I have ever used.
Dave
Only used one (the 15” Nox). Would like to try the 18” coil.
